Oman International Bank (OIB)
came into existence on 1st January 1984 as the first 100% Omani owned
commercial bank in the Sultanate.
However OIB history dates back to March, 1975 when the Arab African
International Bank's (AAIB) Muttrah branch was inaugurated. Four years later
in 1979, the AAIB was taken over by the newly establish Oman Arab African
Bank. In 1980, Oman Arab African Bank transferred its operations to a
main office in Ruwi, whilst keeping the Muttrah office open as a branch.
Over the next 3 years, OIB opened branches in Sidab, Al Khuwair and Salalah
as well as receiving license to open our first branch in Mumbai, India. OIB
offers services to banks and financial institutions throughout the world to
assist international trade and commerce. The Bank have agreements and
mechanisms in place with banks around the globe and have a solid track
record of professionalism and reliability within the banking and finance
industry.
