Bank of China established its first branch in Penang in 1939. Its branch network had gradually expanded to 5, with the other 4 situated in Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Seremban and Batu Pahat. Its Malaysia branches, however, ceased operations in March 1959. |

With the rapid economic and trade development between Malaysia and China, together with the supports of the two Governments, Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad (BOCM) officially re-commenced business on 23rd February 2001. |
